Renters Rights Bill

There are only a few months left before the new Renters’ Rights Bill is implemented, and there is a lot that both landlords and tenants need to be aware of. Assured shorthold tenancies are being abolished and replaced with a periodic tenancy. The government has now released the mandatory wording that must be used in new contracts, and in March it will publish a leaflet explaining the changes to existing tenants.

Compliance paperwork has increased, and price increases are now subject to a different process following the introduction of Section 13 and oversight by the Tribunal Board.

We recognise that these changes may feel overwhelming, and we have been proactively exploring improved measures to safeguard our landlords and their properties. Please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our office if you would welcome our support in navigating this new legislation.
