Highgate’s Fair the Square returns Saturday 13 June
Seeking volunteers to help on the day
The Fair in the Square is a highlight in Highgate’s Summer Calendar when friends and neighbours come together for a fun day out and welcome visitors from further afield.
This year’s Fair is Saturday 13 June from 12.30 to 5.30 when Pond Square, South Grove and St Michael’s Church Forecourt come alive with colourful stalls, street food, live entertainment, children’s activities, roving stilt walkers, Church Tower Tours and the popular Dog Show. A free not for profit community event, The Fair takes place each Summer thanks to a team of volunteers and local sponsors. The organisers are welcoming new volunteers to help on the day with stewarding, setting up and taking down, so if you can spare an hour or two, and would like to join the team, please email thefairinthesquare@gmail.com.
The Chair of the Fair Committee, Madeleine Cosgrave, said, “We are extremely lucky to have such strong support from the local community, including our amazing sponsors and volunteers, without whom the Fair would not happen. At the time of going to print, the following sponsors have confirmed their support; Bross Bennett family law solicitors, Camden Council, Channing School, Day Morris, Dexters, Highgate School, Highgate Society, Hodge Jones Allen solicitors, Mini Mozart, Pond Square Dental, Riverstone Bishops Avenue and Streathers solicitors. www.fairinthesquare.co.uk
The enthusiastic participation of local societies, businesses, schools, charities, churches and performing groups, many of whom are represented among the 100 plus stalls and on the Pond Square stage, provide a showcase for people to discover the wide range of local activities they can get involved in.
