The popular games franchise has scared audiences the world over in various formats over the years. The films that have come before are fine for what they are, but anyone who has played the games will tell you that they lack a fundamental part of why the games are so beloved. Well, this new movie by director Zach Cregger hopes to harvest some of that precious DNA for this latest interpretation of the narrative for the big screen. A courier (Austin Abrams) who is tasked with delivering a package to a remote hospital soon finds himself caught up in a crazy viral outbreak, with infected creatures giving him a fight to survive the night.
