Because Nobody Warned Us
The 10-Minute Reset
(When Everything Goes Pear-Shaped)
Some days just unravel. One child’s upset, the other’s arguing, and you’re wondering how it all went wrong before you’ve even had a proper cup of tea.
Before writing the day off completely, try a reset. You don’t need to fix everything—you just need to interrupt the spiral.
Try this:
- Pause what you’re doing
- Change the scene—step outside, move rooms, or open a window
- Offer a snack or drink
- Put on music—something upbeat works wonders
- Lower expectations for the next hour
Often, it’s not the situation that’s the problem—it’s the build-up of small frustrations. A short reset can shift everyone’s mood far more quickly than trying to power through.
Reality check: You don’t need a perfect day. You just need a better next 10 minutes.
