Love local history? Enjoy a good story? You could be part of something special.

Friends of Firs Farm, together with the Enfield Society, are launching Time Together in Hidden History — a community project celebrating the fascinating past of Firs Farm. From its beginnings as Bunces Farm in the 1800s, to an anti-aircraft battery and Prisoner of War Camp in WWII, later sports grounds for Saracens rugby club, and now a thriving wetlands and Sustainable Urban Drainage System supporting wildlife and reducing flooding — this site has seen it all.

We’d love the community to help bring that history to life.

Phase 1 – Community Archive: Do you remember Firs Farm from years gone by? Have photos, memories or stories? We’d love to hear from you and include them in our growing archive.

Phase 2 – Hidden History Trail: We’re creating a heritage trail with interpretation boards and QR codes so visitors can explore the site’s story. Fancy helping design, research or install it? Volunteers welcome.

Phase 3 – Time Together Heritage Group: A friendly six-session heritage group (dates tbc) exploring local history in creative and enjoyable ways — open to anyone with curiosity and community spirit.

Whether you have memories to share, time to volunteer, or simply want to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
